When the Mountains Walk - painting for the 'Glover'

The scene of the Mountains above Queenstown is often referred to as a 'Crater Moonscape" with intense colour which glistens after melting snow and rain.  However I see the Mountains as 'Ghosts of the past'.  The realty is the Mountains were denuded and their beauty devasted.

Johm Glover as we know discovered a new and exciting landscape when he arrived in Tasmania, and I wonder what his interpretation would be of these mountains.

This landscape is a metaphor for human concerns.   I have atempted to portray the scene by starkness, colour, and plain form of the mountains. Acrylic/Oil on Canvas 122cmx100cm
